Smokin’ Aces is a movie with very unique characters, making it interesting to watch throughout the whole movie. Good job is done following the several teams, and thus the pace is kept fast. The plot has several nice twists, and there is plenty of character development taking place.
Following the Mr. Bean movie trend, Mr. Bean’s Holiday is funny in a primitive way. The humor is a lot like that in Epic Movie, just with the “fun” aspect added.
Unfortunately, it is way too sentimental for the satisfaction expected from Mr. Bean. The ending gives a nice turn, though.
Meet the Robinsons is another everyone-is-happy animated Disney movie. Like most of them, the story is fast-paced, never leaving a boring moment. Obviously, it is aimed at younger watchers.
Use of time-space transportation with the main character’s time machine is highly illogical and inconsequent. It thus creates a lot of unexpected events, but you feel tricked since it shouldn’t be possible by the rules in the movie.
Epic Movie is an utterly worthless “movie” in the form of consecutive slap-stick-funny clips. The only good thing is that the movie is so pathetic that you can laugh at its feeble attempts to entertain. Also, the characters’ faces change from time to time.
300 is a great movie depicting 300 Spartans fighting for liberty against the giant Persian army. There was a complete lack of characterization, but the epic battle scenes more than made up for it. In fact, the whole film consisted of battle scenes — even the mildest part, where the Spartan Queen holds a speech for the senate, ends in bloodshed.
Except the battles, it seemed like an all-star team of cool quotes. Quotes describing the Spartan way of living were thrown around like food in a food-throwing contest. This made it look a little cheap, but still a very worthwhile movie.
