All along, my plan has been to start by sleeping 7.5 hours a day, and following that up with 6 hours a day when I feel that I am ready. I’ve been trying to nap around the same time every day, and so this is what I’ve come up with:
Core sleep: 03:00 (or 01:30) - 07:30
Nap: 20:00 - 2130
Of course, this schedule is completely theoretical and impossible to follow to the minute. I always take a few minutes extra time to fall asleep, and I doubt that my sleep cycles are exactly 90 minutes long.

The funny thing though: the more and more I did it, the more exact the 90 minute nap became. As I took naps on a road trip this summer (3 or 4 months into biphasic sleep) I would always wake up almost exactly 90 minutes after I got in the car (like, after lunch or something). I think the more you do it, the more your body will sync up, too. :-)

Devin, thanks for the support. If it continues like this, I will never stop sleeping this way. I’ve slept a total of 4.5+1.5 hours twice in a row now, and I still feel alert and refreshed.
