Wordpress Plugin: ChessNotator
“ChessNotator” is a plugin that I wrote for WordPress. I don’t see why it wouldn’t work in WP 1.5, but I’ve only tested it in 2.0. The plugin allows you to paste a pure PGN text file between <chess> tags, and creates a nicely formatted table with the players’ names and the moves. Here is an example:

This is cool. I hope you will continue to update it with different formats and possibly playable boards. Or at least a tag for positions or some such. Many possibilities. I may just have to learn how to code in PHP. :) Thanks.

Leonardo: Very cool idea. I’ll se if I can do anything about it.
Erin: Thanks. As soon as I’ve read a bit more about plugins, I’ll give it a try.

Can’t we have something like an actual board shown in the body of the entry and we can play it forward and backward. As it it’s already a gui for the game. I’ll be waiting for this kind of plugin in the “near” future. Thanks!

Hm, think I’ll give it a try building up my oun WP-site with chess protocols.

Check out http://www.pgnview.com and the WP plugin. You copy-paste the PGN to your post and an interactive board is drawn to play the game through.

Toomas: Thanks, I had no idea that such a plugin already existed. It works nicely, too.

[...] I am going start writing down all my chess protocols from different tournaments. I am using my brother’s WordPress plugin Chessnotator. This is the first round in the Linkoping Championship of 2007, which was started in the 16th of January. I resigned this game against Arno Platau, who was much more experienced than I was. Hey nice site you have. Anyways I just thought I’d chat about some new chess software I found lately. Its called chess analysis pro 7000. Its very good in analyzing your chess games for blunders. It also trackes your chess ratings. I liked the little book that came with it too. Yes I’d recommend this item.
